LOCAL HERO: WESTON SOCIAL CLUB STEWARD CHAMPIONS LIFE-SAVING DEFIB PROJECT
By Jill Dando News
In a heartwarming tribute to community service, the Donate For Defib WsM Project honored Tich, a dedicated steward at the Weston Super Mare Social Club, for his extraordinary support in promoting life-saving cardiac awareness.
On Thursday, project leaders presented Tich with a special certificate, recognizing his pivotal role in the organization's critical mission.
Known playfully as 'Take One Tich' for his natural media prowess during a promotional video shoot, he has become a local champion for community health.
Tich's contributions extend far beyond a simple venue rental.
He has generously provided a free meeting space for management meetings and CPR/Defibrillator awareness sessions, complementing these efforts by offering complimentary refreshments.
His commitment has attracted significant media attention, hosting interviews with BBC Bristol and a film crew from BBC Points West.
The Social Club, which has housed a life-saving defibrillator for over a year, has already seen the device used multiple times—potentially saving lives in critical moments.
"We cannot thank Tich and the club members enough for their ongoing support," project representatives stated, highlighting the community's collaborative spirit in promoting cardiac health and emergency preparedness.
