Student, 12, excelling in archery

The King Alfred School student and member of the Burnham Company of Archers Darragh Joyce, 12, took part in the UK Junior Masters Archery Tournament held in Oxford.

This event, which was only available to those who gained their Junior Master Bowman classification during the previous year, began with archers competing in a ranking round, similarly to the Olympics. Darragh’s scored 657 out of a possible 720, ranking him first, earning him a buy into the semi-final, which he won 7-1 before storming the final 6-2 against the second ranked archer.

King Alfred School are thrilled with his success and cannot wait for him to compete in the UK Junior Nationals in July and the Irish Junior Nationals in September.
