“Absolutely mind-bogglingly brilliant” new school good news centre launched

Dozens of students aged 11 to 16 in Jill Dando’s old school are getting good news across the world in her memory.

Students at Worle Community School in Weston super Mare have set up a Jill Dando Centre to get good news out – trained by Jill’s brother Nigel and other professional editors, journalists and photographers.

Now 20 years after Jill won BBC Personality of the Year, dozens of students in Worle at WCSA and Priory Community School have set up the Jill Dando News Centre in both schools.

Nigel said: “It is absolutely mind-boggling how brilliant this scheme is. I’m sure schools all over the country will wish they had such a resource like this. It is absolutely inspirational.”

Principal Jacqui Scott said: “Good news can help change schools, communities and even nations.”
