A 14 year old in Jill Dando’s old school wins journalism award after becoming one of Britain’s most experienced teenage reporters.
Worle Community School Academy student Joshua Keyes has just scooped the Jill Dando Journalist of the Year prize after three years of being part of the school’s Jill Dando News Centre when it began.
Joshua writes dozens of stories with photos of students doing exceptional sporting successes.
Jill Dando went to WCSA before soaring to journalism success and becoming one of the best known faces on television – whilst being kind, caring and compassionate.
Joshua said: “I love covering stories of sporting successes and am eager to be a sports reporter in the future.”
Principal Jacqui Scott said: “The Jill Dando News Centre is all about finding and publicising good news stories of successful students. Joshua has been exceptional and is also a lovely student, caring and kind just like Jill was. He has a wonderful career ahead of him.”
