Inspirational students visit one of the world’s best universities

Twelve Year 10 students from Worle Community School Academy visited Lincoln College, one of the 38 colleges that make up Oxford University.
During the day, the students were given talks about Higher Education and Oxford, advice about A Level choices and were given a really interesting interactive session on roman architecture and sculptures by a Classical Archaeology and Ancient History postgraduate student.Jay Gardener, who wants to be a computer scientist, said: “It was a great experience and I would love to go to the university.”Careers Advisor at WCSA, Leeza Cuthbertson, said “Our trip to Lincoln College gave a valuable insight into higher education. The student feedback was really positive, and it’s clear that Lincoln College really inspired them in so many ways.”WCSA is the former school of Jill Dando, one of Britain’s best journalists, and now has a new centre named after her to inspire good news and future journalists.
