Inspirational student assists with first aid emergencies and gains prestigious award

The King Alfred School Academy Student James Wood, has been awarded a rare prestigious award with the 290 Air Training Corps.

James, from Somerset, was awarded the Wing Commanders Commendation for Meritorious Conduct for First Aid.
James correctly diagnosed that his grandad was having a heart attack, and then assisted his mum when she was suffering from a panic attack.
Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “James has acted with incredible maturity and he deserves his award. He is exactly what the school is all about.”
