The King Alfred School Academy opened its doors on its Open Evening in Highbridge, Somerset with dozens of students showing families around its fantastic campus.
The academy, which also has a thriving Sixth Form, is one of the region’s fastest improving schools and now has record numbers of students following years of success.
Some 250 students started at the school this year - an intake record following years of rising demand. The school has not been as popular as this for a generation and possibly much longer.
It follows fabulous GCSE and A Level results, and the expansion of a thriving Sixth Form, alongside huge site improvements, gigantic campus and superb facilities.
On the Open Evening, there were fun treasure hunts, samples of outstanding Aspens restaurant food, teachers dressed up as historical figures, baking demonstrations, music and much more.
The high-flying Sixth Form with its brilliant expansion and new facilities was also open to view and speak to students.
Principal Dan Milford said: “Everyone loved meeting so many pupils, parents and carers - there was a fabulous buzz around the academy.
“Our student intake numbers are rising year on year and we are delighted that the school is now more popular than it has ever been. We are in very exciting days for our school and wider community.”
