The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reached a deal with Netflix to make programmes to inform and give hope.

They aim to bring much-needed hope to people across the world – especially during COVID-19 and beyond. Millions across the world are complaining that they are only hearing bad news, which is filling the world with fear and anxiety.

Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” said Prince Harry and wife Meghan.

“Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection,”

Harry has talked openly about his mental health struggles in the past, and had to suffer the agony of losing his mum, Lady Diana in 1997.

Since the coronavirus crisis that began earlier this year, people across the world are also reporting more difficulties than ever before.

The multi-year deal will encompass documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.

In a statement they added: “Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection,”

“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.”

Netflix chief Ted Sarandos said he was “incredibly proud” the royal couple had made the company “their creative home”.
