Hard work, character and excellence has been rewarded by celebratory hot chocolates with the headteacher.

Pupils at Ashcombe Primary School in Weston-super-Mare Somerset have been rewarded for some fantastic work.

Excellent learning, hard work, focus, concentration, reading, effort, kindness and manners were all celebrated with a hot chocolate with whipped cream.

The pupils included Cherry Rose and Corey, Revannah, Freddie, James, Aminah, Thomas, Marley and Frankie.

And finally, teacher Mrs Doyle enjoyed her hot chocolate for “being awesome!”

Headteacher John Clark said: “We love to celebrate with the pupils and teachers every week for all their incredible work.”

The school has been rolling out a programme of bringing learning to life by helping the homeless and by making rounded children ready to take on the world.

Ashcombe was one of the schools listed in the Real Schools Guide 2020 of the best schools around.

It follows from the previous year when they were in the top 5% bracket for combined reading, writing and maths results, compared with similar schools nationally.
