Jill Dando News

Jill Dando News began in 2011 at Priory School, UK, right in the headteacher’s office - in Weston-super-Mare - the town Banksy would make famous as the base for his world-famous Dismaland exhibition.
It started as an idea by the innovative headteacher wanting real-life experiences for children and young people to step into the world of journalism writing positive news stories — no matter their age.
Reporters were soon trained in the style and culture of the town’s most famous resident - Jill Dando who rose to the top of the BBC TV - and who went to the neighbouring school Worle School a mile away.
Since then, these young reporters have made global headlines, with 9-, 10-, and 11-year-olds interviewing the Prime Minister at Downing Street within his first weeks in office—not just once, but three times, including two visits to their school.
They’ve also sat down with Mr Speaker in the House of Commons on three occasions and have quizzed hundreds of inspiring figures.
Their positive stories have reached millions through The Good News Post and wider media across the UK and beyond.
These remarkable young journalists are proving that age is no barrier to making a difference—and spreading good news to the world.
