Get fit and make friends in amazing weekly walks
By Jill Dando News
More than 300 regular walkers do weekly walks in ten locations including Cheddar, Churchill, Clevedon, and Weston-super-Mare in North Somerset near Bristol.
Trained volunteer leaders ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for participants of all abilities.
They try to avoid steep hills, stiles, many steps or very muddy surfaces. However, be prepared for the odd hill and stile, grass, uneven surfaces or puddles after rain.
The scheme caters to those new or returning to exercise, allowing participants to improve fitness at their own pace.
Health Walks are really important for social engagement as well as the physical benefits exercise brings.
First-time walkers are required to complete a sign-up form upon arrival.
Comfortable footwear is recommended, particularly during autumn and winter months.
The program welcomes only registered assistance dogs.
For more information or to volunteer as a walk leader, interested individuals can visit the Better Health North Somerset website or contact local group leaders directly.
