Generous residents and businesses are helping green-fingered pupils to develop their flourishing gardening club

The St Anne’s Church Academy Gardening club grows blackberries, strawberries; onions; garlic, potatoes, corn on the cob and much more.

Local people and business in Somerset have donated items including a greenhouse, seeds and compost.

They even get to eat every fruit and vegetable that grows inside the club.

GJ, aged 9, who starred on a ITV Jill Dando news report, said: “We love the gardening club. We really enjoy seeing it all grow and then eating the produce.

“We particularly enjoyed the blackberry and apple crumble, and a corn on the cob.”

This extraordinary garden also has a blossom tree.
