Gangsta Granny and a host of other book characters brought fun and learning to life on World Book Day.

Staff at Worle Community School Academy dressed as book characters from Gangsta Granny along with dozens of others books.

On World Book Day, every child in full-time education in the UK is given a voucher to be spent on books.

Gangsta Granny is a 2011 British children’s comedy fiction book, written by David Walliams. Gangsta Granny Strikes Again, was released last year.

Reading for All programmes in The Priory Learning Trust have further helped boost literacy in recent years.

World Book Day is celebrated nationally every year on the first Thursday of March.
