By Liam Drury
Ethan, 10, featured in popular farming magazine after his heroic feats studying via Edinburgh University and rescuing chickens.
Ethan of East Huntspill Primary School in Somerset, made the South West Farmer magazine for his animal loving care
Ethan adopted eight chickens, then completed a 10-hour course in ”Chicken Behaviour and Welfare” from Edinburgh University to convince his parents of his passion and diligence in looking after them.
Ethan also sells their eggs with all proceeds to their upkeep and to Pear Tree Farm to help rescue more animals.
Ethan said: “I’m really passionate for animals and I just wanted to give them a better life, really.
“They’ve had a miserable life, with not much room. They’ve just sat there, laying eggs.”
Principal Steve Davis said: “Ethan has been very excited about what he has done for the chickens. We are very proud of him and his love and care for animals.”
East Huntspill Primary School became part of The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT) earlier this year along with its sister school, West Huntspill Primary School. https://www.huntspillfederation.co.uk/
