Entrepreneurial students dance and act to wow packed audiences

More than 200 Year 7 Clevedon students performed spectacular dance and drama Musical Theatre performances to packed out audiences after two terms of making companies out of their classes.

The 11 and 12 year olds from Clevedon School performed to parents and carers to packed out halls, and then to Year 1s from Tickenham and St Nicholas Chantry after dozens of hours of preparation.

They had been making companies out of their classes and had to choose Company Managers, Directors and Choreographers, as well as do their own publicity, fundraising, directing, technology, costuming and everything else connected with dance theatre.

Clevedon School is part of the Clevedon Learning Trust and produces West End-quality productions which have won a host of awards and accolades.

Deb Morgan, Head of Dance and Drama, said: “We are so proud of our students who spent two terms designing their own dance and drama company. They did everything and then brought the house down with their end of term performances.”
