England call up for budding Katrina Johnson-Thompson

Inspirational Taunton student following in footsteps of world athletics star Katrina Johnson-Thompson.

Seren Rodgers of The Castle School has been selected to represent England at the Home International Pentathlon Championships in Glasgow in November.

It follows a year of successes including her recent England Athletics South West Field Junior Athlete of the Year award.

She just won a sensational silver medal at the National Combined Events Championships.

She is hot on the trail of Katrina Johnson-Thompson who just won the World Championship Heptathlon, breaking the British record.

The Castle School is one of Britain’s best schools with an excellent record of producing sporting talent.

Headteacher Sarah Watson said: “Seren is doing brilliantly in athletics and has a fantastic career ahead of her. Not only is she is impressive as an athlete, and an inspiration to younger students, but she is also a very kind and generous person.

“She has a great athletic future ahead of her and we all have fingers and toes crossed for her here at The Castle School.
