Digital marketing apprentices join local media and technology company
By Jill Dando News
Marketing, media and technology group, the Ascot Group, continues to support the local community through its partnership with Weston College by welcoming two new digital marketing apprentices.
Sam Cherry and Harry Lynn will be joining forces with the team for the next 18 months to help gain their level three qualification in digital marketing.
Over the next few months, both apprentices will spend a month in each of the departments within the company’s marketing agency to help inform their studies with industry experience and consolidate their understanding, before then deciding to work in a team that best suits their interests.
The wonderful addition of Sam and Harry has helped the Ascot Group reach the impressive 100 employees milestone, and their contribution towards the growing list of clients is invaluable.
MD and founder of the Ascot Group, Andrew Scott, recognises the work of Sam and Harry as an example of the organisation’s growing success.
He said: “I’ve always believed we would build a world-class business in Weston-super-Mare, and it’s fantastic to see how we’re shaping the future of our region with the backing of Weston College.
“This apprenticeship scheme will help work towards our shared goal of creating unrivalled opportunities and hundreds of high value jobs in a town with great potential. It’s a privilege to help Weston College shape the next generation, and I’m excited to see all that Sam and Harry will go onto achieve with our fantastic work force.”
Both Sam and Harry have also highlighted how the apprenticeship has offered them a diverse range of opportunities, while allowing them the chance to remain in Weston close to family and friends.
Sam said: “I’ve always wanted a career in marketing and social media and believe that this is the best opportunity for me. It’s a relief to know how supported I am here. Learning about marketing first-hand is invaluable and the best thing I’ve done this year.”
For Harry, someone with experience as a contractor, the transition to the corporate world has been a welcomed change. While he was concerned by his lack of experience at first, he is incredibly happy with the decision he’s made.
“The Ascot Group have supported me every step of the way since starting this apprenticeship scheme,” Harry explains.
“Everyone has been so patient and understanding. Both Andrew and Weston College have created a brilliant course and I’m enjoying each step of the process. To anyone considering an apprenticeship scheme, I’d say go for it. Don’t let lack of knowledge stop you!”
As an ever-expanding business with ambitions to further support the local community, the Ascot Group offers a range of employment opportunities within marketing, media, and technology. More information can be found at www.ascotgroup.co.uk or by calling 01934 428771.
