On Thursday 6th March, Priory Community School, Somerset, held their annual World Book Day celebrations.
A favourite feature was a competition for best door designs - featuring many creative book covers.

All the tutors worked as teams to design their door as a book design from some well known authors:
• English - Roald Dahl
• Maths – David Walliams
• Science – Julia Donaldson
• P.E – Harry Potter
• Languages – Dr Suess
• Humanities – Autobiographies
• DT/Art– Comic Books (Marvel/DC)
• Drama/Music - Shakespeare
• IT – J.R.R Tolkein
• Library/Canteen – Michael Morpurgo
• Jeff Kinney and Stephen King were also featured!
Students enjoyed putting together elements to display and it brightened up the school.

‘Engaging with books gets students thinking and talking about the books they love!’ said one tutor.
World Book Day takes place on the first Thursday of every March.

This World Book Day organisers invited children of all ages to get creative and share their love for reading by designing their own unique National Book Tokens gift cards! Tokens for books are also issued every year to help encourage young people to pick up a book and engage!
