Castle Batch Primary School children in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, took part in a transition day to meet new class staff and teachers.

Transition day is a day at Castle Batch  where you meet your new year teacher and new school staff.

All children are moving to different year groups and some teachers are moving too.

It happens at this time of year so that children can get to know their new teacher who they are going to be with next year. Here is what some people have said when meeting their new teacher.

Transition day is for teachers to get to know their new students' names Mrs Blake said ‘She was very impressed about how her new class came into her classroom.”

Also another teacher called Mrs Harraway commented ‘‘They were lovely and enjoyed their time and mainly enjoyed the block area and building there’’

A year 1 student commented She liked transition day and really enjoyed being with her new teacher but felt very nervous in the morning'.

Also a year 5 student said ‘‘I felt nervous at first but afterwards felt fine when I got to know them more.’’

Most students were nervous but they stayed confident and now are excited to meet their new teacher for the next year.
