Charity in partnership with Ascot Group invites businesses and community to host a festive Christmas Day dinner.

It’s just over a month until Christmas and the expanding charity for the homeless, vulnerable and those on low incomes Somewhere to Go is planning its festive Christmas lunch.
With the support of The Ascot Group over the last few years, the charity is expanding its services to the homeless, vulnerable and those on low incomes.
The charity opens its doors 365 days a year and the festive period is no exception.
Now it is planning its annual Christmas Day Lunch.
On Christmas Day it will provide a wonderful two course hot meal and celebrations to people in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset in addition to the services they provide day-to-day.
They will in total provide Christmas meals over four key days - Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
Each year, Somewhere to Go opens its doors on Christmas Day to those who are homeless, disadvantaged, or alone, offering more than just a meal - it’s a lifeline for many.
Last year, the charity served over 40 Christmas lunches and provided takeaway meals for those unable to join in person.
With additional breakfasts and social activities throughout the day, they reached around 70 people.
Now this year, the charity wants business and community help to make it the biggest and best ever.
Ellie Lloyd, Charity Services Manager, said: “We would love the whole business community and wider public to play a part in our Christmas celebrations.
“We rely heavily on donations of food, funds, and gifts, and we are eager to make this one the biggest and best ever.
“Christmas is a challenging time for so many of our clients and being shown kindness and compassion is so important.
“Every year, we scrape by to meet their needs, but with more support, we can give them a holiday to remember.”
Local businesses and individuals are invited to join the campaign by sponsoring meals, donating funds or goods, or volunteering their time.
Even small contributions, like providing stocking fillers, chocolates, or warm clothing, can make a big difference.
“We see people from all walks of life - those who are homeless, people struggling financially, or individuals simply seeking company on Christmas Day,” Ellie explained.
“Everyone gets a warm welcome, a hearty meal, a gift, and a bit of holiday cheer.”
The Ascot Group, a key supporter of the initiative, is working alongside Somewhere to Go to ensure this year’s event is the best yet and to provide additional support including marketing.
“We’re proud to back this incredible effort and delighted to be supporting this wonderful charity,” said Andrew Scott, CEO of The Ascot Group.
“The charity does vital work year-round, but Christmas is a time when their support means even more.”
