This week at Priory Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset the students showcased their excellent cakes based on their favourite books in celebration of World Book Day.

Concluding last year’s competition, some of the cakes that were included were:

Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel, The Monster Book Of Monsters (Harry Potter), Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and finally 101 Dalmatians.

This year’s work was just as amazing, and following on from World Book Day, in each department of the school (Maths, English, PE, etc), the teachers became their own book/film character following the theme of their own subject.

Last year’s costumes were very creative and this years were even better! The English department gave full commitment and were characters from Romeo & Juliet; It was incredible!

The students and teachers have given an outstanding amount of effort towards this year’s World Book Day and all had a great day!

World Book Day 2024 has got people from all tutor groups at Priory Community School Academy decorating their doors to mimic a book of their choice.

From Willy Wonka designs to ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ or famous childhood classics, students have been engaging with their love of literature.

Each faculty will also see its teachers dressing up as book characters, with the English team judging the winner of the best door design by the end of the day!
