Bristol Airport Strikes a Chord: Public Piano Brings Festive Cheer and Charity Donations This Christmas
By Jill Dando News
The Departure Lounge at Bristol Airport is currently home to a piano for the festive season.
The installation of the piano is the latest element to the Airport’s Christmas
festivities and to bring some joy to passengers departing from the Airport this
December.
The piano is being played by a variety of different musicians from the local area, including local pianist Richard Lennox, and passengers who are flying out from Bristol Airport can also have the opportunity to play their favourite songs over the festive season.
The piano is being used to raise money for the Airport’s charity partnership, the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC). GWAAC respond to people in urgent need of critical care.
They perform procedures normally only seen inside a hospital emergency
department, for patients whose survival relies on receiving that treatment right there at the scene.
The piano can be found between World Duty Free and InMotion/ WH Smith in the Departure Lounge.
Lucy Taylor, of the marketing team at Bristol Airport said:
“This is the first year that we’ve had a piano in our Departure Lounge and it’s fantastic to see the festive cheer it brings to passengers as they’re waiting for their flights. We’re sure that the new piano will be really popular with passengers and we encourage people of all ages and abilities to play it. We look forward to hearing the great tunes from passengers who are flying out from Bristol Airport this festive season.”
