Brilliant Sixth Form students launch amazing new monthly magazine

By Jill Dando News

The entrepreneurial students at the school-based Sixth Form at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset have produced a fabulous first edition of their new magazine ‘Spotlight’.

The magazine will inform Sixth Form students about various aspects of student life, careers, university and apprenticeships.

It will be distributed to current students and prospective students.

Editor, Jacob Kemp, said: “After a year of Covid restrictions, we wanted to integrate the Sixth Form again, and “Spotlight” is a fantastic resource for this.

“Our Sixth Form community is passionately engaged with this initiative and we hope to expand this newsletter with exciting ideas and by inspiring collaboration.”

The first winner of their “Spotlight” cover competition was Vivianna, an international student from Italy, who has joined Year 12 this year.

Year 13 student Jenna Edgar compiled the design of the logo for the newsletter.

Last week saw record numbers pack into the Sixth Form at their annual open evening.

Incredibly due to the success and popularity, in the last two years the numbers studying at the Sixth Form has grown by over 100%.
