Brilliant Primary School Launches SEN Coffee Mornings to Build Supportive Community

The Meadows Primary School in Bristol, part of the Futura Learning Partnership and rated 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2022, has launched a new initiative supporting families of children with special educational needs(SEN). 

The program introduces regular coffee mornings designed to create a welcoming space for parents to connect and share experiences.

These monthly gatherings will be held in the school hall on Tuesday 12th November and Tuesday 10th December, from 9AM to 9:45 AM. 

The initiative reflects the school's commitment to its motto "Focus, Flourish and Fly" and its dedication to creating an inclusive environment where every child and family can thrive.

Headteacher Owen Edwards explains,

"At The Meadows, we believe in going the extra mile to create a nurturing environment for all. “Our new SEN Parent Coffee Mornings reflect our commitment to fostering a supportive and connected school community, where every family feels valued and understood."

To further strengthen support for SEN families, the school has appointed Claire Mansri as their new SEN Parent Ambassador.

In this role, Claire will:- Provide guidance to families navigating SEN support- Connect parents with valuable resources- Work closely with the school's SEN team and Facilitate community building among SEN families.

"Claire brings not only experience but a passion for supporting parents on their SEN journey," Mr. Edwards added. “Her role will help bridge connections within our SEN community, strengthening the network of care that surrounds each child at The Meadows."

The school has also launched a dedicated SEN Facebook page to complement the in-person meetings.

This online platform will:- Keep parents updated on upcoming events- Share valuable SEN resources- Foster ongoing community support and Facilitate connections between families.
