Big-hearted students treat elderly to a fish and chip lunch at inspirational school.

The Year 7 students at John O’ Gaunt School – just weeks after starting at the high-flying academy – served up launch to 40 delighted local residents.

While tucking into fish and chips, tea and coffee and pudding, Year 10 students played accompanying music for their guests.

JOG is a fantastic community school which has high-achieving students who are encouraged to help others.

Head of School Corinne Walker said: “The elderly residents were so thrilled to be invited in and our students thoroughly enjoyed treating them to lovely food, music and conversation.”
