Big-hearted students deliver food parcels

Year 11 John 9’ Gaunt students took to the streets this week to surprise elderly residents with a basket full of goodies, showing once again their community spirit and tremendous character.

They even raised money for the hampers themselves as part of a Newbury News campaign.

The inspirational Hungerford students were keen to help to bring even more Christmas cheer to the elderly of Hungerford.

JOG is a high-achieving school, full of amazing students, that places huge emphasis on helping others and the community.

Principal Alan Henderson said: “I am so, so proud of our students – this was a tremendous and generous thing to do and the elderly residents were blown away by the thought.”
