Big hearted people raise £170 for brilliant charity

The FUCHSIA Cancer Support Group held a coffee morning at the Night Jar Pub in Worle, Somerset where they raised over £272.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

They enjoyed cake, tea and coffee while raising money for the brilliant charity.

The group FUCHSIA has met for 10 years, just a stone’s throw from Jill Dando’s childhood home in Worle, and school, Worle Community School Academy, where students write positive stories in her memory.

FUCHSIA, which stands for Friendship, Understanding, Cancer Help and Support in Abundance, have been running since 2010.

The group continued throughout the Covid lockdowns, with group lead, Julie Crowther, phoning the members almost every week to keep in touch.

Julie said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the amount raised on a wonderful morning.”

FUCHSIA's doors are always open to new members. Contact Julie on 07896699627 or hello@fuchsia.org.uk
