Before-and-after school clubs launched at popular school

Worle Community School Academy, part of the high-achieving The Priory Learning Trust, has rolled out dozens of exciting Period 6 clubs including in the Arts, Media, Music and Sport before and after the school day.

The popular Academy has launched clubs including an array of sports, business clubs, creative writing, art, music.

They also have a breakfast club, an eco club called Climate Justice Revolution and a unique Jill Dando News Centre for budding journalists.

There are also clubs for gymnastics, fashion and textiles, board games, pop music, books and biscuits, drama and history film.

And Period 0 - before school clubs - Exam Revision sessions are helping students prepare for their upcoming exams.

Principal Mark Tidman said: “We are absolutely passionate to roll out a range of curriculum and extra-curricular subjects to help produce rounded students ready for a lifetime of success.”

Since becoming part of TPLT in 2016, the academy has seen huge campus improvements including a £400,000 refurbished auditorium and sports hall.

WCSA celebrates heroes every day as part of their PROUD plan to inspire students to be Prepared, Respectful, Optimistic, Understanding and Determined.

The school was the first to set up a Jill Dando News Centre in 2017 in memory of former student, Jill Dando.

The young journalists find, write and publish positive good news as well as modelling kindness, humility and positivity.
