After nearly 1 million hours a year responding to calls, now Samaritans gets exciting new charity partner

On Samaritans Awareness Day, Central Co-op is thrilled to announce Samaritans as its new charity partner.
As voted for by its Members and colleagues, Central Co-op will officially begin raising funds and awareness for the charity from October.
Samaritans’ exceptional volunteers provide a safe and non-judgemental space for individuals to discuss whatever challenges they are facing.
Every 10 seconds, a Samaritans volunteer answers a call for help. Last year alone, Samaritans spent over 900,000 hours responding to calls, demonstrating the immense dedication and impact of their work.
With over 200 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland, Samaritans relies on the public’s donations and the support of around 23,000 volunteers to continue their vital services.
