Meet Emily, one of Britain’s best young mathematicians – now shining with Oxford and Cambridge elite

Amazing Emily is officially one of Britain’s best young mathematicians after shining at elite maths gatherings at Oxford and Cambridge.

The King Alfred School Academy student won a place alongside the 59 other best women mathematicians in the country.

She took part in a highly competitive residential for Women in Maths Programme at Christ’s College and Trinity Hall Cambridge. 

She had previously participated at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford (pictured).

Inspirational maths lecturers and top research fellows delivered lectures and classes for the students.

They covered a range of mathematical subjects including how mathematical modelling is used to predict the current situation of climate change. 

It is not Emily’s first success. She previously earned an exceptional ten GCSE grades at TKASA and is now excelling in the Sixth Form.

She has also had the wonderful opportunity to complete an Insight Programme with Multinational firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Head of Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell said: “We are all very proud of Emily and the achievements she’s managed to make at TKASA and in the Sixth Form. We know that she will continue to amaze us all in the future.”
