More maths success by superb students

Students from Worle Community School Academy in Somerset excelled during a Pi recall competition.

Albin Alex in Year 11 was the eventual winner racing through an impressive 195 digits of Pi to claim the top prize, a £30 Amazon voucher.

The Pi competition challenged Worle students to remember as many digits as they can – with the world record standing at 100000 digits.

Head of maths Sean Wood said: “It was great to see students from across all of the year groups taking part and Albin did very well to come out with the first prize.”

Just a few months ago, WCSA became the best State school in Britain in a Maths Miniatures competition, finishing in the top seven out of nearly 100 schools. http://worle-school.org.uk
