Eco-minded student leaders eye mental health and community

Hungerford students take up roles as new Head Boy and Girl with plans to further boost the environment, mental health and the community.

Alfie Penny, 15, and Ceara Fowkes, 16, of John O’ Gaunt School have started their new roles on the student leadership team.

They both plan to help the environment, further boost mental health and bring the community together

Ceara is also a singer-songwriter who has been singing since the age of four while Alfie plans out a career in law or rugby.

Ceara said: “We would love to bring even more of the community into the school and help the community generally.”

JOG is a tremendous community school that encourages each and every student to aim high.

Head of school Corinne Walker said: “Alfie and Ceara are inspirational students and we are delighted that they will represent the school in their new roles.

“They have chosen to help in the wonderful areas of the environment, mental health and the community.”
